Sealord Group Ltd is New Zealand's largest fishing company, which is 50 percent owned by Nissui (Nippon Suisan Kaisha Ltd).
Sealord owns 19 percent of the New Zealand quota in fisheries throughout the EEZ. With joint ventures, the company has expanded to other Southern Hemisphere hoki, orange roughy and toothfish fisheries in the waters of South America, Australia, Antarctic, and the Indian Ocean.
On March 31st, the Japanese company Nissui, owner of whaling ships and a whale meat cannery, announced they would divest their whaling company assets and no longer participate in Japan's controversial "scientific" whaling scheme.
Hands up who reckons they actually have? Still keen on Sealord tuna bites? Wondering to yourself why a Maori tribe (through Aotearoa Fisheries Ltd, formed in 2004 as part of Treaty settlements) would get into bed with whalers?

Anak Krakatau, in the Sunda Strait close to Java, has been spewing out flaming rocks and smoke since rumbling to life two weeks ago.
A volcanologist says the "Child of Krakatau" is not especially dangerous."
Any of you who have read "Krakatoa - The Day the World Exploded" by Simon Winchester will know that it is, in fact, especially dangerous.

LINK of the YEAR - www2.akpress.org, so, yeah, Read More Noam
Screw living in that police state: 'eavesdropping' (read: wire taps), government employees opening private mail, unelected government officials starting illegal wars and labelling critics as 'unpatriotic', illegal undeclared 'detention' facilities (read: concentration camps?) in foreign countries specifically to avoid that pesky Geneva Convention. That only scratches the surface. Don't forget that the alcoholic simpleton puppet leader claims to hear God in his head.
who shall we bomb next? (wmv) - shit i posted this about 3 years ago and it's just done the rounds on facebook last week (dec 2007). that seems to be happening more and more...

3. Don't bring your dog/pig/cat etc
4. Don't bring your own alcohol
5. Do bring your tent, sunnies, pillow, togs etc etc
Yeah! I'm gonna make a flasher site now :) Not for flashers. Although there is nothing wrong with public nudity. Bury this. Don't be too worried about Bush getting re-elected, they're going to fight the next war with themselves.
"At McDonald's, employment is at will. This means that employees are free to terminate their employment at any time, for any reason, with or without cause, and McDonald's retains the same rights."
interesting stuff..
http://www.sacred-texts.com/piri/index.htm#map and from our "This sounds hauntingly
familiar" file comes this.... Naturally, the common people dont
want war... but after all, it is the leaders of a country who determine
the policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag people along whether
it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist
dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always
be brought to the bidding of the leaders. This is easy. All you have to
do is to tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the peacemakers
for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the
same in any country." Hermann Goering, Hitlers Reich-Marshall
at the Nuremberg Trials after WWII
